IN-HOUSE BASEBALL PROGRAMS

The House League consists of leagues at the following levels: T-Ball, Pee Wee, Mustang, Bronco, and Pony and registration is open.  There are no tryouts but there is an evaluation of the skill level of all new players in the league and attempt is made to draft the teams equally.  Players must be the league age on or before July 31 of the current year.  Teams are coached by fathers of players.  Fathers interested in managing or coaching a team?  Then email now.  This is neither a school nor a Park District event but Park District fields are used.

Leagues Ages

  • T-ball is for 6 and 7 year olds
  • Pee Wee is for 8 year olds
  • Mustang is for 9 and 10 year olds
  • Bronco is for 11 and 12 year olds and some 13 year olds
  • Pony is for 13 & 14 year olds
  • Colt is for 15 & 16 year olds
  • Palomino is for 17 & 18 year olds

T-Ball League

  • Open to boys league age 6 and 7.

  • Emphasis on instruction.

  • Maximum 13 players on team.

  • Uniform is T-shirt and cap and player keeps uniform.

  • About 12 games weather permitting.

  • No win/loss records kept.

  • Coaches pitch to their own team.

  • Played at Byron Park and Ardmore School.

  • Every player gets a participation trophy.

  • A pool party at the end of the season at Addison Pool.

Pee Wee League

  • Open to boys league age 8.

  • Instructional and competitive.

  • Win/loss records kept.

  • Uniform is jersey, uniform pants, and cap and player keeps uniform.

  • Usually 11 or 12 players on a team.

  • 55 foot bases

  • 42 foot pitcher's mound

  • Player pitch.

  • Played at Foxdale Park.

  • Playoffs and Championship game.

  • 8 year old all star game.

  • Eligible for 8 year old travel team; travel players must play in-house.

Mustang League

  • Open to boys league age 9 and 10

  • Uniform is jersey, uniform pants, and cap and player keeps uniform.

  • Usually 11 or 12 players on a team.

  • 60 foot bases

  • 46 foot pitcher's mound.

  • Played at Centennial Park.

  • No drop third strike.

  • No infield fly rule.

  • No leadoffs.

  • Stealing allowed when the ball crosses home plate.

Bronco League

  • Open to boys league age 11 and 12 and some 13 year olds.  The 13 year olds will be selected according to their skill level.

  • Uniform is jersey, uniform pants, and cap and player keeps uniform.

  • Usually 11 or 12 players on a team.

  • 70 foot bases

  • 48 foot pitcher's mound.

  • Leadoffs allowed.

  • Stealing allowed.

  • Drop third strike applies.

  • Infield fly rule applies.

  • Played at Community Park.

Pony Travel League

  • Open to boys league age 13 and 14.

  • Uniform is jersey, belt-loop pants, cap, and belt. (all except cap must be returned to ARC at end of season)

  • Single A and Double A teams.

  • Players must "tryout" for the Double A team.  Depending on the number and skill of the Pony player pool, there may be one or two Double A teams.

  • 80 foot bases

  • 54 foot pitcher's mound.

  • Rules approximate "Big League Baseball."

  • Rosedale League is for Single A teams.  Teams travel to surrounding towns such as Bensenville, Elmhurst, Itasca, Villa Park, and Wooddale for games.  About 18-20 games plus playoffs are played in Rosedale Pony Baseball League.

  • Greater Dupage League is for Double A teams and is the more competitive.  The AA teams play teams from Bensenville, Bollingbrook, Darien, Romeoville, and Woodridge to play games.  About 18-20 regular season games are played in Greater Dupage.

  • Home games played at Community Park Field #4.

  • The Double A team will also play additional games outside of the Greater Dupage Pony Baseball league against full and part-time travel teams to accomplish a total of 25 to 45 games.

  • Weekend tournaments may also be played.

  • Double A teams may consist of 13 and 14 yr old players.

  • The Pony baseball season runs from about April 1 through Mid-July but definitely not into August.

  • There is an additional fee to play on the AA Pony team, for batting cages, and tournaments.  Each tournament is approximately $40 per player.

  • The AA Pony tournament team may have a different roster than the regular season AA team.  Players may be dropped from the team for poor attitude, poor attendance, poor performance, or other negative characteristics.

  • AA Pony team is a great opportunity for serious baseball players who want to play as many games as possible.  The AA pony team may also play some games on 90' bases and 60' 6" pitcher's mound to help prepare him for high school play.

  • Players should indicate on their signup forms whether they want to be considered for the Double A team(s).

Colt Travel League

  • Open to boys league age 15 and 16, mostly freshman and sophomore.

  • Travel to nearby towns.

  • Players must "tryout" for the team.

  • The number of Colt teams will be determined by the number of players interested.

  • League starts after Memorial Day when high school players are released from their high school teams.  No conflict with high school Summer ball.  High school summer ball is played Monday through Thursday and the Colt League plays Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Palomino Travel League

  • Open to boys league age 17 and 18.

  • No conflict with high school baseball.
